All of the yarns in our Classic Collections are hand-dyed. Each of the colorways has been inspired by the environment. In each collection of yarn, we have endeavored to capture the essence of the Irish countryside.
All Natural
All our yarns are as close to their natural state as possible, so you may find some small bits of hedgerow in your yarn. This is just a small piece of Ireland that has found it's way to you.
Hand-washed Using Traditional Irish Techniques.
The fleece is washed using a natural fermentation method used by generations of Irish yarn producers. This ensures that no harmful chemicals are used. All the washing is done by hand and the wool is dried in the shed on the farm.
Truly Unique
Just like the sheep this wool is sourced from, every hank is slightly different. Even wool dyed in the same color family will have stronger and lighter hues of the shade coming through.

I chose Yarn Vibes "Inis" in "Wild Heather" to use with my "Hedgerow" in the "Blackthorn" colours as they are each a light sports weight yarn and their colours are complementary. The rustic nature of this 100% natural variegated hand dyed wool made it straightforward to crochet with as the stitch definition was clear and firm and blocking the pattern out was easy. I used a strand of each "Blackthorn" colour in tandem with one of the multi coloured "Inis" to use a larger hook size and to achieve a truer specturm of Irish heather in my shawl colour.
